How to access the Research Library

Access

CCS and BCS operators are granted priority access to the Research Library. Each scheme participant was emailed their Research Library access details (Username and Password) on Monday 25th January 2021.

Wider industry may request access to the library, by visiting the webpage and selecting the 'Request access here' option - access is granted on a case-by-case basis. If access is granted, this will be chargeable.

Access Fees (for non CCS/BCS participants)

The fees for the access to the Research Library are as follows (all excl. VAT):

  Non CCS/BCS  participants

Non CCS/BCS participant (student/academic)

Initial Access Fee (cost of the first year of access) £250.00 £200.00
Annual Access Fee (cost for the second and subsequent years of access) £75.00 £50.00

  • Initial Access Fee

The cost of access to the Research Library is the total cost of the first project of the Research Hub, divided by the number of participants under CCS/BCS at the end of 2019 (the year the project was commissioned). This sum calculates the amount of Research Fee each scheme participant paid towards the first project of the Research Hub (see the ‘How It Works’ paper for an explanation of the CCS/BCS Research Fees).

A student or academic submitting a request for the purpose of a thesis, PHD or similar, who is also a non-scheme participant, will be charged a reduced Initial Access Fee of £200.00.

  • Annual Access Fee

The Research Library is maintained and updated regularly, and therefore non-CCS/BCS participants are required to pay an Annual Access Fee. The Annual Access Fee during the second and subsequent years does not equal the cost of access for the first year, given that the Research Library will not have an annual content overhaul, but rather that a new research category will be added, or a selection of new research articles, for example.

The cost of access to the Research Library for the second and subsequent year/s of access is the total cost of the project maintenance, divided by the number of participants under the CCS/BCS at the end of 2019 (the year the project was commissioned). This sum calculates the amount of money each scheme participant is paying towards maintaining the Research Library per annum.

A student or academic, submitting a request for the purpose of a thesis, PHD or similar, who is also a non-scheme participant, should pay a reduced annual access fee of £50.00
