The Research Hub is pleased to announce that following a competitive tender period, Biomathematics and Statistics Scotland (BioSS) has been appointed to conduct the data analysis phase of the Hub Project 4: “Plant Response Test Interpretation and Comparison”.
BioSS will compare Plant Response Test (PRT) data from the Compost Certification Scheme (CCS) with new data obtained for the project. Whereas the standard PRT uses tomato plants to establish the quality of compost, the new data gathered for the Hub project uses spring barley plants. BioSS’s expertise will allow the project team to compare the tomato and spring barley datasets, which in turn will further our understanding of compost performance.
The full title of this phase of the project is “Statistical analysis and interpretation of performance data from the UK Tomato Plant Response Test and German Spring Barley Test on CCS Compost.”
BioSS is expected to begin work this December, with the project report expected to be finalised in summer 2026.
